GM Paint Code Locations

General Motors puts their paint code information on a decal or metal tag. The tag itself can be difficult to find. Most cars newer than 1985 will have tags located somewhere in the trunk. Older GM cars will have the tags located on the cowl. Early Corvettes had no tags and 60's and 70's wre in the drivers side door jamb. GM trucks usually have the tag located in the glove box. Here are some examples:

1996 Cadillac DeVille - Located on the spare tire cover in the trunk.

1990 Chevrolet Pickup - Located in the glove box.

1969 Chevrolet - Located on the cowl.

1968 Chevrolet - Located on the cowl.

1964 Pontiac GTO - Located on the cowl.

1956 Chevrolet - Located on the cowl.

1951 Chevrolet - Located on the cowl.
